## Decisive passage

Coker’s attack shifted from seven kills and ten errors in the third set to 13 kills and three errors in the fourth. Late in that final set, a Carly Crouch–Cheyenne Bird block made it 22–15\. Addie Bittner and Crouch then added kills before a Chowan attack error ended the match. [\[1\]](#source-1)

## Player impact

Cayla Gilmore and Katelyn Brannam each had 10 kills for Coker. Bird recorded 36 assists and three aces; Bittner collected 22 digs. Brannam contributed five total blocks. Chowan’s Anna Holcombe had five aces and 23 digs, helping explain why the visitors remained capable of disrupting Coker despite the final result. [\[1\]](#source-1)

## Mayberry’s take

The most useful positive was Coker’s immediate improvement after its weakest set. The lower error count and greater kill production in the fourth support that conclusion without requiring an invented explanation of what changed between sets. The team-block advantage also mattered in a match where kill totals were nearly equal. At the same time, a 25–12 set loss deserves its own review rather than being hidden behind the match win.

## Conference context

This was nonconference competition. The result contributes to the team’s early-season record and evaluation, without changing its SAC win-loss record. The useful next comparison is whether the strengths and weaknesses visible here recur against subsequent opponents.

## Evidence scope

Analysis uses the official box score and rally log. Statistical differences describe the match; they do not establish unreported tactical instructions, injuries or player psychology.
