## Mayberry’s take

The timing of the late goals changed the contest in two steps. Talavera moved Lincoln Memorial back in front; Adams then created a cushion before Nova Southeastern could find another equalizer. The second goal in that passage was therefore more than an addition to the margin.

The first equalizer had arrived soon after halftime, leaving a long period in which either team could take the next lead. Lincoln Memorial’s response came later, but its final attacking return was consistent with the larger shot and corner totals.

That does not mean the outcome was secure throughout. The home side produced five shots on target and did level the score. Miklosi’s saves and the later finishing both belong in the explanation of the victory.

The evidence supports a productive attacking performance with an effective late response. It does not identify possession share or prove which individual chances were most difficult. Those limits matter when interpreting the statistical advantage.

## Conference context

This nonconference result gave Lincoln Memorial a positive finish to this Florida assignment. The match offers a clear sequence to study: conceding after the break, remaining level for an extended period, then creating separation. Those specific lessons are more useful than assuming the result establishes a position in the SAC race.
