## Decisive stretches

Wingate committed nine attack errors in the first set and 10 in the second, yet won 25–23 and 26–24\. In the third, it recorded 12 kills with only two errors. Lillian Edwards’ kill and Addie Rossum’s service ace supplied the final two points of the 25–18 finish. [\[1\]](#source-1)

## Mayberry’s take

The almost identical hitting percentages keep the sweep from being interpreted as three sets of effortless offensive superiority. Wingate produced more kills, but also more errors and attempts. Its serving advantage supplied another useful scoring route.

Lander remained close enough to change the first two sets. Losing both placed it in a difficult match position even though its full-match attack efficiency was slightly higher. Volleyball rewards set finishes rather than an aggregate percentage alone.

For Wingate, the third-set reduction in errors is the more repeatable standard to pursue. For Lander, the productive defense and close early sets offer a foundation, with the next step being enough successful closing actions to turn competitiveness into a set win.
